Nordis – The brand for German-speaking fans of Scandinavia since 1994

We would like to take this opportunity to give our customers and partners an overview of the channels Nordis uses and the options available.
Nordis Verlag, now based in Bottrop in the heart of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), has been in existence since the 1980s with various ownership structures. Jörn Backhaus has been the managing director of the limited company since 2016. Since the publishing house was founded, Nordis has had only one focus: “Scandinavia/Northern Europe”.
Use Nordis as a platform to reach German-speaking end consumers with a very high affinity for Scandinavia/Northern Europe and products from this region in a targeted manner and without wastage.

1. Nordis magazine

Since Nordis Magazine was first published in 1994, it has become by far the most popular and widest-reaching Scandinavian magazine for the German-speaking market. Nordis Magazine is now closely linked to the website www.skandinavien.de and Nordis Verlag’s trade fair appearances. This also facilitates a lively exchange with the readership.
Especially in times of AI, fake news and “constant digital bombardment”, a printed magazine is once again becoming very important.
Facts: published six times a year since 1994, print run of 38.000 copies, climate-neutral printing and shipping, distribution: subscribers, magazine retailers and Nordis web shop.
You can find the current media data here.

2. NordCamper

NordCamper has been an annual special publication of Nordis Verlag since 2019 and is the only German-language camping guide for Scandinavia/Northern Europe. NordCamper offers plenty of inspiration (e.g. route suggestions for each country) and service/facts. NordCamper stands for the correct interpretation of the right of public access in Scandinavia (Allemansretten/ Allemansrätten), as well as the topic of “free standing” or “wild camping”. One of the aims of NordCamper is to encourage readers to use legal parking and camping sites. There is also a lively exchange with readers, particularly at the Nordis Verlag exhibition stands.
Facts: published annually since 2019, print run: 40.000 copies, climate-neutral printing, distribution: magazine retailers and Nordis web shop, Nordis Verlag exhibition stands (currently SkandinavienWelt Messe Essen, Caravan Salon, Messe Düsseldorf).

Nordis Verlag has owned the domain www.skandinavien.de since 1996. During this time, the website has undergone continuous development. Today, Skandinavien.de is a modern and attractive portal with freely accessible content. The content is based on Nordis magazine and offers a wealth of information and inspiration. Content is also promoted via the Nordis pages on Facebook and Instagram, as well as via the monthly Nordis newsletter (approx. 16.000 recipients). The website also features the Nordis web shop, which generates a lot of traffic.

SkandinavienWelt is located in Hall 8, right next to the main entrance. In addition to its own stage programme, the country stands (Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland) are some of the highlights. There are also a number of other exhibitors and culinary offerings from the Nordic countries. SkandinavienWelt is now a fixture in the calendars of many Scandinavia fans.
